Olga – Waimanalo

Olga & Stuart tied the knot at a private residence in Waimanalo.

Olga’s hair inspiration was of Kate Middleton’s gorgeous braided lowdo – a style that I loved as well prior & was excited to recreate this hairstyle for her!  The hairstyle was a low chignon, with braids on both side – one of my top favorite hairstyles!

As for her makeup, she requested a natural makeup so I did – as for her lashes, she initially didn’t want false lashes but as always when I bride tells me that, I always tell them that I highly recommended applying false lashes.  In the end, she was happy with the false lashes – I used the individual lashes for her to keep it natural.

Saki – Halekulani

Hawaii Wedding Makeup Artist – Susan Ko

 Saki was my gorgeous bride who wanted a very different look for her wedding!:) I met with Saki for her trial session couple weeks before her wedding & she was such a joy to work with!

For Saki’s makeup, we initially did a natural look at the trial session.  On the actual wedding day, she decided to go a little bit more smokier in the end with her makeup so I kept everything the same and added a bit more brown and a just a little hint of black.  I loved her red lips…which really pulled the whole look together beautifully!

The look she was achieving was more of a old hollywood glam, so a faux bob was perfect & she matched perfectly with it!  With Saki’s long hair, I curled her hair and pinned it up to create a faux bob.

Lisa – Kaneohe {Private Residence}

Hawaii Wedding Makeup Artist – Susan Ko

Lisa was my beautiful bride from New York!!  Her ceremony and reception was held at a priviate residence in Kaneohe overlooking the beach.

I fell in love with her wedding style after she showed me her dress & her hairstyle!!  For her hair, she definitely wanted to incorporate a braid and a bun – love!  so simple yet chic!  Instead of just doing a simple twist bun, I split her hair into two ponytails and created a bun to twist it the opposite way to create a bit of a dimension.  You can view her trial session photos here.

For Lisa’s makeup with her style, browns & golds were best color choices for her.  She ended up getting a little sunburnt after our initial trial session with that comes really dry flaky skin – which was no biggie but I just wanted to make sure her skin still looked flawless.

Sara – JW Marriott Ihilani (Ko Olina)

Hawaii Wedding Makeup Artist – Susan Ko

Sara and Francois tied the knot at the beautiful JW Marriott Ihilani in Ko Olina.  They flew in from Virginia to have their destination wedding here in Hawaii.

I met Sara when we did her trial session a few days before her wedding.  She knew exactly what she wanted, she sent me photos of makeup and hair looks prior to our trial session to recreate.  I used golds and browns to create her glam look with a full set of false lashes and with a side ponytail hairstyle with 3 pretty purple moth orchids!

Juliana – Koolau Ballrooms

Hawaii Wedding Makeup Artist – Susan Ko

Bride and groom, Juliana and Paul tied the knot at Koolau Ballrooms!  They currently reside in Las Vegas, but both originally from Hawaii they decided to get married back home in Hawaii!

Juliana was such a sweet bride to work with since I worked with her from our initial trial session,the wedding day and her post -wedding day photoshoot!  On the day-of, Juliana and her bridal party  all wore white tank tops with orange ‘Team Juliana’ shorts (pix below) while sipping on mimosa’s – how super cute is that!?!:)

 I suggested that we do a bit more darker than from her trial session and she agreed as well – Yay!  For Juliana’s makeup for her wedding day, I did a semi-smokey glam look – false strip lashes were added to her lash extensions which gave it more of a dramatic look – love!  And a beautiful large hairpiece was added to her low-do hairstyle with her veil.

When I met with her the next day for her post-wedding photoshoot, her makeup was kept more natural with golds and browns and hair loosely curled – perfect for a casual look!

I had such a great time working with such a sweet bride!
